Adding a Datepicker to an Event Grid or List

The Datepicker shortcode adds a bar across the page that makes it easy for users to filter events to a single day. It looks something like this:

It's recommended you add the datepicker to all event grid and list pages; it's not useful on the calendar views since they are already calendars and display dates in various calendar formats.

Add The Datepicker to a page

The Datepicker is a shortcode that comes with the Elevent plugin. You can find the name of it and a description on the Elevent plugin settings page.

You add this shortcode to a page in the same way you add any WordPress shortcode to a page. For instance, as an Elementor Shortcode block

Showing a date range instead of individual dates for more than 3-day runs

On pages with an Event Grid, it's possible to show the month and day when showtimes exist. However, if you have an event that shows on more than 3 dates, that can be too many to show individually.

You can add grid_date_range=true to the elevent dates shortcode to create this behavior. So the whole shortcode would look like this:

[elevent_dates grid_date_range=true]

For all events in the event grid, date ranges will show instead of each and every date.

You will need "event_dates" to show on your FacetWP listing (or other loop/grid showing Elevent Events) for this to have any effect.

That's it. Dates will automatically be shown as options when the event list or grid has events on it with future showtimes; conversely, dates will automatically remove themselves from the datepicker as dates transpire into the past.
